LED grow lights can be beneficial to almost all indoor houseplants, herbs, fruits, and vegetables, not just the controversial ones we all know about. For these plants, the requirements are more subtle because the yield and medicinal potency are not the main priority.
In truth, some indoor plants have the potential to live decades even centuries so long as they are taken care of properly which is why I consider indoor plants a type of art because whether it’s a living room, window sill, even low light indoor plants in your office space or any other place you can think of, their presence helps provide a beautified atmosphere.
I compiled the following list of small, low power LED grow lights for any/all indoor plants, including low light indoor plants that require the additional light.
What I mean by ‘additional’ light is that most places you purchase your plants provide misinformation on how to care for your new plant. Did you know the average life expectancy of newly bought houseplants is 6 weeks? Why? More sales of course.
If you don’t already know how to properly care for your existing plants, my suggestion is to thoroughly research their requirements. Also, check into the needs of every plant before or right when you buy, it’s easy, Google has all you will ever need to know and then some.
Once you are aware of your plant(s) needs, you can take a gander at my recommendations below to see what you think will be best.
TaoTronics 12w LED Grow Light Bulb
My 2 cents: TaoTronics 12w is one of the best for low light indoor plants. The low output prevents burning of the leaves and it is highly unlikely you will have any problems due to the power output. I have used mine for over a year now and have nothing but praise, and I saw results from my small Ficus within one week. The build quality is solid, its lightweight and it’s small and compact. My rating 4.6 outta 5.
TaoTronics 36w LED Grow Light Bulb
My 2 cents: Taotronics 36w model comes with 3w LED’s which are more efficient and the added power once again, gives you a larger growing area for large plants or several med/small ones. I prefer the additional power because it’s more versatile. Have low light indoor plants? Just raise the light higher, it’s that simple. Build quality is solid and again, it’s small in size and lightweight. My rating 4.8 outta 5.
Aokey 10w Full Spectrum LED Grow Light Bulb
My 2 cents: Aokey is a great light for single med/small plants and is very versatile. You can put it anywhere you can place the clamp which is perfect for an office environment. The output is the lowest on my list but that doesn’t mean anything because it’s made for one purpose, supporting small low light indoor plants.
I bought one for my small barrel cactus but it’s too soon to see results, but I am optimistic. Build quality is great, its compact, and it’s backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Which was the deciding factor when I bought mine. You can’t go wrong. My rating 4.8 outta 5.
Roleadro Full Spectrum 45w Grow Light
My 2 cents: Roleadro is more known for their higher power lights but they maintained the high quality and performance they are known for, just in a smaller package. The advantage of this light is its size. The larger size allows more surface area which equals more coverage. More coverage equals larger or more plants.
Depending on how much space you have to hang a light, this may be just what you need. It will support low light indoor plants, and fruits and vegetables. Even thick canopy plants will benefit from its size. Build quality is great, its light weight and all hanging hardware is included. It’s great for supporting low light indoor plants in areas where winter sunlight wanes. My rating 4.6 outta 5.
Shengsite UFO Full Spectrum 50w Grow Light
My 2 cents: Shengsite’s introduction into the smaller light category is a strong contender. 250 1w LED’s running at 20% (50w) capacity proves why these lights have a 50k hour lifespan. It means these LED’s can run at a low level making them last longer. 50w is the highest in the category but that only adds to its versatility.
I like the design of this light because it generally fits the profile of the plant with regards to coverage. Build quality is top notch, it’s a little over a foot in diameter, its lightweight, and all hanging hardware is included. My rating 4.7 outta 5.
Wondering what a little itty bitty LED grow light would do for your favorite indoor plant or home-grown herbs, fruits, and veggies? Give any one of these a try and you’ll see why I made this site. They work unbelievably well and the reality is it’s only going to get better.
The bottom line is how much you care about your plants. Some people invest a lot of time and effort into their plants, others are perfectly content with buying plant after dying plant. It’s easier to do, I guess. I myself don’t feel right if a plant dies under my care (I have a weird conscience) so I do whatever I can to provide proper care and the optimum conditions for all my plants.
What is your opinion, is a plant easily replaceable for you or do you take pride in what you are growing? I’d love to hear your opinion, please let me know what you think in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for visiting my site, you’re welcome back anytime.
